KBC opens up fee-free banking to more customers
So we’re here today in KBC and we’re
joined by Vincent Keogh, who’s the Head of Current Accounts at KBC and Vincent
is going to tell us a little bit about some of the changes to KBC’s new extra
current accounts. So, Vincent, what’s changing? – We’re delighted to advise that
we’re changing the criteria on our ‘Extra’ current account to make it easier for
customers to avail of free day-to-day banking with us. Previously customers had
to lodge €2,500 monthly to avail of free day-to-day banking
and a host of other benefits. I’m delighted to advise that
we’re changing that to €2,000 per month In essence, we’re opening free day-to-day banking
to a whole lot more customers. – Okay. that’s great news. And why else should customers move to KBC? – Well, in addition to the ‘Extra’ current account
that I’ve just spoken about that account also offers a range
of additional benefits for customers such as discounts on mortgages and personal
loans, discounts on home insurance and enhanced saving benefits as well. Plus, with KBC, customers can also avail of our range of enhanced digital benefits such
as Apple Pay, Google Pay and also access to our
award-winning app as well. – Great! And if somebody was thinking of
moving to the ‘Extra’ current account how much could they save by switching?
– Okay, we estimate that customers could save up to €140 on a
per annum basis if they move to the ‘Extra’ current account.
– So, is it easy to open an account with KBC or switch to KBC?
– Yes, we make it really easy for customers to open accounts with us
so, for example a customer can go onto
our app and open a new account in 5 simple steps. So it’s a really easy
process. Alternatively, if customers prefer to see us face-to-face, they can
come in to one of our hubs, which are dotted around the country. Plus our
contact centre is available to take calls 24/7, so you can open an account
really at any time and place that suits individual customers. For customers
who want to switch their accounts we have a dedicated switching team in place
so, again, we wil to make it nice and easy for them to get
through that process. – Okay, great. Vincent, thanks for joining us.
– Thank you, Daragh!
