Lingmerth cruisin’, Fowler flag assist & camera danger

Look out! We’ve got some highlights coming at ya! That was a close one by Justin Thomas. Unfortunately he did not make the weekend,
as the cut was set at plus-4 on Friday at Quicken Loans National. Only the Masters and DEAN & DELUCA at Colonial
have had higher cut lines this season. So at -10, I think it’s safe to say leader
David Lingmerth is in his comfort zone. Winning here at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm
back in 2012 on the TOUR, the PGA TOUR winner was on cruise control. Even if he found trouble in the thick rough,
he recovered no problem. The Swede got himself into double digits with
a gorgeous approach for birdie on his final hole of the day. But he might have himself some competition
in 8-time PGA TOUR winner & major champ Geoff Ogilvy, who also shot a 65 on Friday. But don’t let those guys fool you. The winds picked up and the temperature climbed
into the 90’s on an already tough course. Is that Patrick Reed? Op, nope that just a deer. Ok there’s Patrick Reed. He found himself in a rough patch more than
once on the 6th hole… But then managed to save par! Rickie Fowler needed a little assist from
the flagstick out of the bunker on 4. But then saved par with this 26 footer on
5. He even got a leg kick assist from Adam Hadwin! Hadwin himself had an interesting two putt,
I guess you should say, a few holes prior… nothing like breaking out your wedge on the
green. But there’s really nothing like a eagle. Marc Leishman drove the green on
the par 4, 14th and then drained the 18-footer for the big bird. Don’t go anywhere! PGA TOUR LIVE continues all weekend. I’ll see you there, on social media for
Quicken Loans and Saturday night in The Takeaway.
