Low-Interest Disaster Loans
Hi. My name is Matt. I’m with the Small Business Administration Disaster Assistance. We partner with FEMA to help survivors from recent disasters. The SBA offers low-interest loans to homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. SBA the primary source for long-term federal disaster assistance recovery. For homeowners and renters, we do ask that you first register with FEMA. If you receive a disaster loan application from SBA, here’s what you do next: Fill out the loan application even if you don’t want a loan. It’s important to complete and return the loan application to be eligible for additional financial assistance. If approved for the loan, you can either accept the low-interest loan or turn it down. For homeowners and renters… if SBA is unable to approve a loan, we will refer you to FEMA for any possible futher grant assistance. Once you’ve filled out the paper application, you can return it in the mail or take it to any local recovery office that may be open. But if you prefer, you can skip the paper application and submit online. Just visit: disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/ Help is also available by emailing [email protected] Or by calling 800-659-2955.
