THOSE WHO HAVE RIDDEN THE Q LINE LIKE IT BUT THE ONES WHO ARE POO POOH THE IDEA HAVE NOT BEEN ON THERE AND THE MAIN REASON THEY TALK ABOUT THAT IS BECAUSE OF TIMING. THAT IS STOPWATCH I WAS RUNNING WHILE WE MADE THE STORY ON FRIDAY. I RODE FROM MY STOP TO MY — FROM WHERE I WAS GOING TO, 42 1/2 MINUTES RIGHT THERE. SOMETHING JEWELS SAYS IS ON HER RADAR TOO.>>IT HELPS PEOPLE GET TO A TO B FASTER.>>Reporter: AND RIGHT NOW YOU CAN SEE THE Q LINE IS TAKING OFF FOR THE FIRST RIDE OF THE MORNING. THAT WORKED OUT PERFECT FOR US. I SWEAR I TIMED THAT OUT. OR NOT. EITHER WAY RIDES THEY ARE FREE. THAT’S THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH. REMEMBER, THEY WERE GOING TO DO IT FOR THE FIRST WEEKEND BUT IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE, BEING TAKE A RIDE LIKE I DID YESTERDAY, AND CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF. ENOUGH w/ the stupid "modern trolley" projects, big cities in America! This shit isn't all that innovative or imaginative.

most ppl must have ride the bus in Detroit who write these comments… public transportation is hectic in the D, this train will help everyone who rides back and forth from downtown Detroit to the inner city…. Be safe stay straped

  8. BlueFireJack says:

I hope these people know, there is a huge difference between walking and riding a train…

  9. DrDewott says:

While I'm all in for more Streetcar/Lightrail I gotta say that this streetcar looks like it's really darn slow. Like they could at least run it 40mph on a straight section. In my opinion the best cities to seek inspiration from when it comes to streetcars are Amsterdam, Berlin and Gothenburg

  10. amartinjoe says:

u need this on cold winter mornings.

  11. Vivek Sevak says:

It's slow, inefficient, and expensive. It's very .. .meh.

  12. john smith says:

45 min in a train, possible seated vs 1 hour of walking… geez, talk about hard choices.

  13. TheColorfulPube says:

The issue with surface rail is that it must have a dedicated right of way, there needs to be concrete keeping cars out of the lane.

  14. Erik Wern says:

I ride it instead of parking at Hart Plaza for downtown events. MUCH handier. I park near north end station. Takes only 20 minutes or so to get to last stop downtown. 75 cents for 3 hours. $3 for all day. Like the free WiFi on board too. Conductors are friendly.

  15. Pai0near says:

    It's too damn slow

  16. Shawn Gamble says:

It's Dirt Slow i can get to my destination faster on the bus!

  17. Aquamarine Kev says:

Man I actually want to come to Detroit just to check out the Qline (a few hours away in Lansing we only have buses :/)
