Stolen ATM from Lincoln Heights bank recovered

other top stories they were so close that’s the sentiment among some San Antonio police officers and most likely the criminals they were trying to catch police missing out by mere seconds on catching at least one man who they believe was behind an overnight ATM theft Katrina Weber reports the suspects also were left empty-handed the hunt was on both the criminals and cleans among the trees not far from the shops at La Cantera police flooded the area near loop 1604 and interstate 10 after one officer answered a call around 6:30 this morning about a suspicious vehicle here then made a surprising discovery he saw a male in a in orange or a yellow shirt flee due west right into the woods and so we immediately we set up a perimeter it wasn’t just the man or the truck he left behind that it piqued their interest but what was inside that stolen u-haul a stolen ATM from what officers tell me that ATM is still intact in fact they say it looks like the man was in the process of trying to break into it just before he ran off police figured out the money machine belonged to a bank clear across town in Lincoln Heights it had been ripped off its base about two hours earlier here on East bassy Road the tractor the crooks used in the theft also stolen was left behind with this engine running it’s the same police have found before but they’re not sure yet if this theft is related to other crimes back on the northwest side while officers recovered the machine they lost the man more than likely more than one person involved so whether his getaway driver was able to pick him up and take him out of here we don’t know yet the ATM with its surveillance camera though just might put police on the criminals trail again Trina Weber KSAT 12 News
